I was recently bought a new external Drive for storing my files, project, works ect. First thing i did was to copy my WampServer Directory to the new hard disk drive so i could continue my work. After a few minutes i came back to check if everything went well and i saw this….
In my first look .. i thought something wrong happened during the copying proccedure. Then i look at the number of file in that directory and i realized that i had to different file system. First one was FAT32 and the other was NTFS (4KB allocation unit size). Look at the difference sizes on disk. Pretty amazing eee?
Here is an article about allocation unit sizes and file systems. Info from Microsoft’s official site about cluster size. Also an interesting article for those non-NT users who cant live without FAT.
